Inventory Planner

We have an exciting opportunity available for an Inventory Planner to join our team based in Corby. You will be the inventory planning specialist for a specific Category to contribute and deliver to the category inventory strategy for Supply Chain. You will be working in conjunction with the Senior Inventory Planner and the Inventory Control Manager on continuously improving the KPI’s within the department. 

 

This is a hybrid role with flexibility to work from home 2 or 3 days per week. Flexibility will also be required in order to meet business demands.

 

What you will do to be successful in this role

 

  • Manage Supply Plan in line with Category and Cell inventory strategies
  • Manage Purchase Order Book to ensure it meets Demand Forecast including expediting and rescheduling
  • Support Inventory Control in mitigating Excess inventory whilst keeping within Category and Cell Stocking Policies
  • Manage exceptions to Supply Plan including but not limited to zero/low stock and customer order shortages
  • Resolve queries regarding product deliveries, working closely with Operations
  • Support Buying teams in improving or maintaining vendor performance and identifying cost reductions
  • Work closely with Demand Planning to ensure Supply Plan meets customer requirements
  • Optimise Return on Investment (ROI) through cross-functional improvement initiatives, implementation of established industry best practices and employing a Total Cost of Ownership approach
  • Be key interface for relevant vendor Supply Plan enquiries for both external (vendors) and internal stakeholders such as IC, Demand Planning, Product, and Operations
  • Proactively seek to continuously improve processes

What you will have to be successful in this role

 

  • Ability to demonstrate customer-oriented thinking 
  • Good challenging, collaboration and influencing skills 
  • Good understanding of inventory management principles and practices  
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • MS Excel proficient 
  • Ability to interpret data and reports and provide clear analytics / recommendations  
  • Ability to challenge status quo and drive for high performance 
  • Ability to operate within a global organisation and to demonstrate cultural awareness 
  • Diversity and inclusiveness aware 
  • Understanding of the market and industry within which we operate
  • SAP and JDA knowledge would be a great advantage
  • MS Office competent
