Head of Content Strategy and Communities

The Head of Content Strategy and Communities (HCSC) will research and develop a global Content strategy for RS Group and oversee its implementation across digital channels. They will support RS solutions and services global business by understanding the Content requirements; and design workflows to share relevant content across RS domains (ecommerce & community platforms) to add value. The HCSC will collaborate widely and use data to identify new Content opportunities whilst optimising existing assets to maximise efficiency.

Key Deliverables

  • Fully accountable to research, determine and execute a focused, cost-effective, impactful global content strategy for the RS Group, to support overall business growth objectives and oversee all aspects of day-to-day implementation across all activities
  • Further enhance RS Group current content strategy to ensure the highest quality output to increase interest across all customer and supplier groups, leveraging online and offline data 
  • Support RS solutions and services understanding and advising on content requirements and implementing relevant content activities across Digital. Accountable for all content elements specifically; designing new workflows, optimising existing assets, creating new content types to engage the target customers
  • Lead and direct all content elements for RS Solutions and Services business (incl. technical marketing, thought leadership content) to support new propositions and make efficient use of core capabilities, connecting multiple stakeholders to deliver the best outcome for customers and communities
  • Create business cases and convincing user stories for internal and external stakeholders to secure funding and attract marketing investment, with a particular focus on RS strategic industrial and electronic Supplier brands
  • Strategize, execute and deliver materials to support the Digital content function and support the VP Content with innovation and strategic priorities

Useful Experience

  • An outstanding track record as a Content strategist in the global B2C or B2B industry sector 
  • Solid editorial experience and demonstrable experience of content strategy, creation, tailored to global audiences
  • Excellent collaboration and influencing skills, ability to communicate and solve complex problems
  • Excellent digital skills, including superior knowledge of SEO and Content systems
  • A structured, self-sufficient work style coupled with distinct planning and execution abilities
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, managing conflicting priorities that require the effective use of expertise across functions and businesses
  • Excellent commercial acumen and adept use of data and insight
