We are currently looking to hire a Cloud Engineer to join our team here at RS Group. As a Cloud Engineer, you will guide technical implementation on multiple large-scale Agile projects and mentor junior and senior engineers in all areas of cloud and digital engineering.  

 

What You’ll Be Doing: 

  • Responsible for cloud infrastructure; including system design, build, and secure operations. 

  • Maintain and promote best practices and guidelines for continuous improvement of the cloud infrastructure environment. 

  • Implement and maintain AWS architecture, solutions, and environments in line with the Cloud Architecture Principles and Strategy 

  • Tune Cloud environments for cost and performance optimisation 

  • Design, contribute, and implement secure solutions using auto-scaling 

  • Maintain operational management of cloud environments 

  • Collaborate in the design and implementation of cloud automation and disaster recovery strategies in line with business requirements. 

  • Collaborate with engineering teams on migration efforts of on-premises applications to cloud environment. 

  

What You’ll Need: 

  • Mid-level Cloud Engineer with experience in software development and mission-critical applications for multi-user systems in heterogeneous environments. 

  • Experience with AWS cloud services & technologies 

  • Strong knowledge of IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation) 

  • Strong knowledge of cloud database management technologies and tools. 

  • Experience of managing Orchestration & Containerisation platforms i.e. Nomad, Kubernetes, OpenShift (AWS ROSA) 

  • Strong understanding of the concepts, technologies, and cost management of cloud technologies. 

  • Understanding of software development best practices, including secure coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations. 

  • Experience working in a DevOps/Agile-focused environment, demonstrating the core principles of collaboration and best-practice 

  • Providing insightful analyses on the efficiency, quality, and economics of Cloud Operations based on empirical data 

  • Contribute to the development of standards and high-level architecture designs 

  • Providing visibility to impediments/risks and support mitigations
